In today episode, I will be comparing the Produce 101 series and Girls Planet 999 to see the differences and similarities between each show. I am revisiting Girls Planet 999, but before you get mad, I think I should do this before the next season, Boys Planet 2022, starts. We are going back to talk about the Produce 101 series that was popular between 2016 to 2019.
I decided to split it up into three parts so that each episode will not be too long. The first episode is comparing and contrasting between the Produce 101 series and Girls Planet 999. I will also input what I think the produce should do and not do in the next season of Boys Planet 2022. The second episode is about the coincidences that Produce 101 series had throughout all four seasons that same true.

I did my own research after watching some prediction videos throughout the release of Produce 48 and Produce X 101. I was very interesting in the coincidences and similarities of the different seasons and final groups. So let's get started.
While doing research, some of the information and data was already posted on different sites. You can find those sites, down below in the credits section. But for the purpose of comparing Produce to Girls Planet, this is all done by me and I have not seen or research anything. So, if someone already post something similar please know that I was not aware at all.
Now, let officially start.
We are going to explore are the coincidences that didn't get broken throughout the four season of the Produce 101 series.
1. Center of Theme Track
Theme track is the theme song that is release before the show starts as a teaser for the show. The center trainee of the theme song debuts in the final group. Some people may say that it is not true because in Produce 48 trainee Lee Ka Eun didn't debut, but the reason is because she was not the center of the whole entire song, she was only consider the center of the Korean trainees. If you look up Produce 48 on Wikipedia, it states that Sakura Miyawaki is the center of the theme song. In Girls Planet 999, there is four version of the theme song released in Korean, Japanese and Chinese. The fourth version showcase all 99 trainees. In this case, this coincidences did not change from Produce 101 series to Girls Planet 999 and therefore, we can infer that the center of Boys Planet 2022 will debut in the final group.
2. Rank 1 is Among the Tallest of the Trainees
Throughout the four seasons of Produce 101 series, we can say that this is true because all four first place trainees is among some of the tallest trainees in their seasons. In Girls Planet 999, unfortunately, this is not true because our first rank/center of the final group is not the tallest among all the trainees, but she is among the tallest in the final group. If you said among the final group, then yes, it is still true, but if among all the trainees in the season, then no.
3. Number 1 Chair
In the Produce 101 series, all the trainees got to pick where they sit when they come into the studio. Each chair is number from one to one hundred. The trainees that sit down in the first rank chair haven't been able to debut in the final group. In Girls Planet 999, the trainees are put into a trio group called cells and they enter the studio together. The cells are split through a common information or interest between all three trainees. They sat down in cells with three chairs and no numbers. The top nine trainees were pick after the elevation. I think this would become irrelevant in the Planet series if the producers are going base off of cells and prior ranking already.
4. Previously Debuted Trainee(s)
In the final lineup, there is a trainee that already debuted once. In the Produce 101 series, there is many trainees who have already debuted. They join the show hoping for another chance to debut and be successful. We can infer that in the final line up there would be a trainee that already debuted.
5. F Class Trainee(s)
In the Produce 101 series, the trainees are separated into different classes to represented their skills. In Girls Planet 999, they didn't put the trainees into different classes due to the fact that the theme track evaluation happened before the show started. Therefore, we might say that in Boys Planet 2022, they might follow this step of doing the theme track evaluation before the demo stage.
6. Two Pairs of Trainees from the Same Agency
In the final line up, there is two pairs (four trainees) who is from the same agency. In the Produce 101 series, agency play a big part of the trainees identity. You would refer the trainees by their agency and their name. In Girls Planet 999, the trainees for known from their name and part of the three groups. Even at the end of the show, there is only one pair (two trainees) that was from the same agency. In Boys Planet 2022, in the case that the trainees can not belong to an agency, this will not happen.
7. Top Rank Trainees
The final line up includes at least two trainees in the top ranks throughout the show. From the start of the show until the end, there would be at least two trainees that doesn't leave the top ranks from any of the elimination round. In Girls Planet 999, there is only one trainee that didn't leave the top ranks throughout the show. We can infer that any trainees that doesn't leave the top ranks during the show would make the final cut.
8. Trainees from same Dance Team
The final line up have at least three trainees from the same dance team/group during the position/second evaluation. This has been true since the Produce 101. Many of the final line up trainees participated in the dance position and happens to be in the same group too. We can infer that the dance position groups would be where most of the final line up trainees would be.
9. Trainee Lip Sync High Note
The trainee who lip sync the high note makes the final debut line up. This is true but also not true. In Produce 48, there was another trainee, Chiyori Nakanishi who lip sync the high note during her performance. She didn't make it to the finale live show and was eliminated during the second round of elimination. I think this coincidence is broken because she was actually the first person to do the lip sync on the show during Produce 48 and I think Yu Jin just added it to the performance after they saw the checkup. In Girls Planet 999, no one did it.
10. Final Center (First Place) Surname is K or J
The final center (first place) trainee last name begins with a K or a J. This is true! 100% true! Even happen in Girls Planet 999. In the Produce 101 series, the two initials alternate. We can infer that the final center surname name is a K or a J.
11. Trainees from the Avengers Team
The final line up includes at least four trainees from the Avengers Teams. Avengers Team includes strong trainees that make up a strong opponent. Each season or show has a team known as the Avengers Team. Some of the trainees usually try to create an Avengers Team when they get to pick their trainees during the first mission. During Girls Planet 999, there was two so called Avengers Team during the first evaluation round. There is a total of four trainees from those two groups but they aren't form the same Avenger group. In Girls Planet 999, they introduce a mission where viewers get to vote for their ideal final line up group. Group 1 consisted of 7 of the 9 members of the final line up. When the group was announce, many of the trainees stated that this is debut team. In a way, this can be consider an Avenger Team.
12. Trainees ranked in 1st Elimination
In the first elimination round, trainees that ranked number 3rd, 4th and 5th debut in the final line up. This is true even in Girls Planet 999. We can infer that trainees that place in those rank during the first elimination will debut in the final line up.
13. Trainee(s) participated in Survival Shows
Trainee(s) that participated in other survival shows usually have a lot of fans supporting them through their time on the show. The final line up will included a trainee that have participated in a survival show prior to the current survival program.
14. Trainees Connection
This one is long and won't make sense until the next seasons begin for the Planet series but you will still see connections crossover between the Produce 101 series and the Planet series. The connection is could be where they trained or work together either projects or other survival shows. The connection can also be through school either they went to school together or around the same time.
15. Trainee(s) stay in A Class in Both Evaluation
The final line up has at least one trainee who stay in A class before and after the final title track evaluation. This is true for the Produce 101 series but in Girls Planet 999, there is no class evaluation.
16. Trainee(s) move from B to A Class
The final line up has at least one trainee who move from B class to A class after the evaluation. This won't be true for Girls Planet 999 because, again, there was no classes.
17. KANG Trainee Jinx
The final line up include a trainee with the surname KANG. I'm excited to see if this stay true once Boys Planet 2022 ends.
18. Trainee(s) Visual Rank
The final line up included at least five trainees who rank in the Visual Rank. Visual appearance is very important but Girls Planet 999 didn't include a long list of visual rank trainees but only pick the top two candidates. In this case, the top visual trainee did debut in the final line up.
19. Trainee(s) First Pick
The final line up included at least four trainees rank in First Pick. Again, Girls Planet 999 didn't do a First Pick ranking where the trainees votes for their top trainee to make the final group.
20. MAIN VOCAL rank in the TOP FOUR
The final line up MAIN VOCAL ranked in the top four. The main vocal of the final line up is usually ranked in the top four place. Although Girls Planet 999 final line up haven't confirm the position of each member, we can infer that Kim Chae Hyun is going to be a main vocal in the group.
21. Trainee(s) Appear in Previous Season
The trainee(s) who participated in the pervious season will not make the final line up. This is true based on the last two season of Produce but in the case of Girls Planet 999, trainee Kim Da Yeon did participate in Produce 48, but because they are different show and not in the same series, it would work out. Instead, Kim Da Yeon would be included in the list of trainees that have participated in survival shows prior to the show.
This includes the coincidences that haven't been broken from the Produce 101 series. It's really fun to see that some of these coincidences happen to stay true and correct as the Produce 101 series finish and crossover to the Planet series.
In the next episode, I will look over the coincidences that was broken within the Produce 101 series and see how that compares to the Planet series final line up.
