LTA KPOP EP 59: Top 10 JYP Artists

JYP Entertainment is founded by Park Jin Young (JYP). The company operates a record label, talent agency, music production company, event management and concert production company as well as a music publishing house. The record label is one of the three big record labels in the KPOP industry alongside YG and SM Entertainment.

10. Bernard Park

Bernard Park is a Korean-American. He is the winner of KPOP STAR Season 3 scoring the highest of 299 points with the song 'Right Here Waiting.'

9. JYP (Park Jin Young)

Park Jin Young (JYP) is a music mogul, musician and record producer. He begin as a singer and became a record producer, ultimately the CEO and founder of JYP Entertainment. He debut in 1992 and currently got married on October 10, 2013. He also made his acting debut through the drama 'Dream High' which star Miss A's Suzy.

8. Miss A

Miss A is a four-member Korean-Chinese KPOP group formed in 2010 debuting with their hit song 'Bad Girl Good Girl.' The member consists of Suzy, Min, Jia, Fei. The group originally consisted of five trainees who were known to the Chinese audiences as JYP Sisters and the 'Chinese Wonder Girls'. However two of the members withdraw notably Lim, current member of Wonder Girls. In March of 2010, Suzy who was 15 years old join and the group became known as Miss A.

7. 2AM

2AM is (sort of like) a sub unit group of ONE DAY, along side 2PM. The group debuted with four-members consisting of Jo Kwon, Changmin, Jinwoon, and Seulong in 2008. The four-member group now is a duo group since March of 2015, when members Seulong and Jinwoon decided not to renew their contracts with JYP Entertainment and sign to other agencies, but JYP assured that it did not mean 2AM was breaking up. 2AM debuted under JYP but switch to Big Hit Entertainment then back to JYP Entertainment before the departure of Seulong and Jinwoon.

6. Sunmi

Sunmi is also known as Mimi and a former member of the girl group Wonder Girls. She debuted with Wonder Girls in 2007 then in 2010, it was announced that she would be postponing her musical career to pursue her academic career. She remain within the company but have no plans to return and comeback as a member of Wonder Girls. She then debut as a solo artist in 2013.

5. 2PM

2PM is (sort of like) a sub unit group of ONE DAY, along side 2AM. The group debuted as a 7-member group in 2008. The member consisted of Nickhun, Taecyeon, Wooyoung, Junho, Chansung, Jun.K (Junsu) and Jaebum (Jay Park). Jay Park left the group in 2010.

4. Wonder Girls

Wonder Girls is a five-member group debuted in 2007 with the lineup of Sunye, Yeeun, Sohee, Sunmi, and Hyuna. The group have gone through member lineup since their debut. Hyuna withdraw from the group in July of 2007 due to parents concern over her health problems. Yubin replace Hyuna in 2007 after Good Entertainment close. In 2009, with the hit song 'Nobody' the group open the show (tour) for trio-brothers Jonas Brothers in America. In 2010, it was announced that Sunmi would leave the group to focus on her academic career and Hyelim, a trainee would replace her in February. Later in 2012, after Sunye announced she was dating, she announced she would be getting married in January of 2013. The group went on hiatus after the wedding. Sunye, later in October gave birth to a baby girl and in December 2013, Sohee left the group and sign with BH Entertainment to focus on an acting career. In March 2014, JYP stated that the group is not disbanding.

3. 15&

15& is a duo group debuted in 2012 consists of Park Jimin and Baek Yerin. Park Jimin is the first place winner of the reality TV competition KPOP Star. Yerin was a JYP trainee for over four years, accepted as a trainee at the same time as 2PM Wooyoung and Beast Doojoon.

2. Baek Ah Yeon

Baek Ah Yeon is a solo artist debuted in 2012 after signing with JYP Entertainment after the reality TV competition, KPOP STAR placing third place, after Lee Hi (under YG Entertainment) and Park Jimin of 15&.

1. GOT7

GOT7 is a 7-member group debuted in 2014, consists of JJ Project, Jr and JB and 4 other JYP trainees. The group is multinational with members from Korea, America, Hong Kong, and Thailand. The member consist of JB, Jr, Jackson, Mark, Bam Bam, Youngjae and Yugyeom.
